Creating demand
From July till October sales of FC2 in Nigeria increased to 318,096 condoms and 5,904 FC2 were distributed for free, bringing the total sale number to 715,261
Seminars, information sessions and community drama, bringing forward the advantages of female condoms, were organised and attended by 253,982 people (159,372 women and 94, men) To further broaden the reach, 132 people (103 women and 29 men) have been trained as inter personal communication conductors. 30 staff members of new NGO partners were also trained, who in turn reached out to 109,132 people (71,749 women and 37,383 men). Furthermore 854 patent ad proprietary medicine vendors (PPMV) have been sensitized on benefits and use of FC2.
Linking & Learning
In September a five day linking and learning meeting has been organised in which both the Nigerian country programme as well as the Cameroon country programme were represented. Furthermore representatives of PSI Zimbabwe, which has already an extensive female condom programme and PSI Mozambique in the process of planning their FC programme participated.
